Moscow (VNA) – Key cadres of the Vietnamesecommunity in Ukraine had a meeting in Kiev on March 1 to review theirperformance last year and set up orientations for activities in 2019.

The working group for community affairs of theVietnamese Embassy in Ukraine reported that associations and organisations ofVietnamese people successfully held many events during the Vietnamese CultureYear in Ukraine in 2018. Those activities popularised images of the Vietnameseland and people in Ukraine and the wish to cooperate with the administrationand people of the European nation.

The working group highly valued the associationsand organisations’ efforts to build a united and disciplined community that hasbeen upholding fine cultural traditions of Vietnam and passing them down toyounger generations.

Representatives of the communities in Kharkov,Odessa, Kiev and Chernovsu noted many difficulties facing Vietnamese people inUkraine. They also put forth proposals to reinforce Vietnamese associations inthe country.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuanappreciated the key cadres’ dedication to social work, along with theexpatriates’ mutual support.

Despite numerous difficulties, Vietnamese peoplemade considerable contributions to the two countries’ relations in 2018, headded.

At the meeting, participants set up majororientations for the community-related work and citizen support in 2019 and thefollowing years.-VNA
