Vietnamese investor builds infrastructure in Laos

Work on construction of a series of infrastructure projects with fundings from Vietnam’s Hoang Anh-Gia Lai group started in Attapeu province, southern Laos, on May 11.
Work on construction of a series of infrastructure projects with fundings from Vietnam’s Hoang Anh-Gia Lai group started in Attapeu province, southern Laos, on May 11.

Total cost of the projects, which include a 200-bed hospital, a 100m long bridge, 250 houses and an administrative centre for Phu Vong district, amount to 30 million USD.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Lao Vice Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavad emphasised that the projects not only boost Attapeu province’s economic development but also manifest the close friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Attapeu governor Khamphan Phommathat praised the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group’s help to the province’s socio-economic development.

The Hoang Anh Gia Lai group took the opportunity to donate 1 billion LAK (about 120,000 USD) to five districts in Attapeu province./.
