Nguyen Quang Thang, Vice Head of the Vietnam Government’s Office, was speaking at a meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath in Vientiane on July 27.

Thang, who paid a working visit to Laos from July 26-28, said his delegation’s visit aimed to work out a cooperative project to help the Lao Government Office upgrade its material facilities and improve its consultative capacity.

For his part, Lengsavath stressed the need for the two countries’ Government Offices to exchange professional experience and promote mutual understanding to obtain the expected substantial results.


He praised the close cooperation between the two offices and expressed hope that the project would soon be finalised, to make their cooperation more effective.

He also underlined the importance of applying computer-based programmes to paper-based work and asked Vietnam to continue assisting Lao cadres to apply modern techniques in information dissemination./.
