Vietnamese, Lao provinces foster ties in border management

Dien Bien (VNA) – A delegation of the BorderGuard Command of Vietnam's Dien Bien province, led by its Commander Col. Phan Van Hoa and a delegation from the SecurityDepartment of Laos’s Phongsaly province led by its DirectorMaj. Gen Kham Chan Seng La Vong held the 11th annual talks on September 20.

Over the past time, the two sides' units have seriously abided by twolegal documents on the border and border gates. They have been closely working together to adopt border management and protection measures, regularly shared information, especially issues related to ensuring political security and socialsafety and order.

They have actively urged residents in border areas to follow the decree and agreement on border management and land border gate regulationsbetween Vietnam and Laos, as well as the laws of each country. They have alsostrengthened diplomatic relations, friendship exchanges and worked closely toensure the safety of their missions.

In the near future, both sides agreed to continue with closecoordination and full implementation of cooperation initiatives between theGeneral Department of Security and the General Department of Police under the Lao Ministryof Public Security and the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence’s BorderGuard High Command.

They will continue fostering social andcultural exchange activities at the grassroots level, and assist local authoritiesin setting up twinned relations between border communes and villages, thus deepening theirspecial friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation in all aspects./.

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Parliamentary leaders hail development of Vietnam – Russia ties

The top legislator of Vietnam proposed that both sides deepen political and diplomatic connections, as well as parliamentary cooperation, through delegation exchanges, high-level meetings through various channels, and the successful organisation of a visit to Vietnam by the Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council and a trip to Russia by the NA Chairman to co-chair the 5th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in 2026.
