Vietnamese, Lao provinces jointly build peaceful borderline

Quang Nam (VNA) – The central province of Quang Namand its neighbouring Lao province of Sekong have agreed to maintaincoordination in building a shared border line of peace and friendship.

The consensus was reached during talks between the Quang Namchapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the visiting delegation from the LaoFront for National Construction (LFNC)’s Sekong chapter in the Vietnameselocality on July 6.

Both sides also pledged to step up communications to help localpeople better their understanding of the Vietnam-Laos time-honoured friendshipand solidarity, while increasing exchanges and consolidating the grassrootspolitical system in border districts, including Tay Giang and Nam Giang ofQuang Nam, and Ka Lum and Dac Chung of Se Kong.

Over the past time, the two provinces have made efforts toattract the involvement of border residents in developing the economy andensuring defence-security.

Quang Nam and Se Kong provinces share a 142km-long borderline.The two sides have seen their cooperation grow in all fields over recent years.-VNA

As of May 13, An Giang broke ground on 2,957 homes under this programme, including 2,453 new constructions and 465 renovations. The province has already completed and delivered 2,482 homes to residents. As much as 215.5 billion VND (8.3 million USD) has been mobilised for the efforts.
