Vietnamese lifters shine at world champs

Hanoi (VNA) – Luu Thi Chu My of Vietnam came third in the women’s 48kg snatchevent at the ongoing IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Bangkok,Thailand.

Mylifted 72kg after her third attempt, taking her bronze medal at her worlddebut.

HeSi of China won gold, lifting 81kg. Han Jong-sim from the Democratic People’sRepublic of Korea placed second with a result of 79kg.

Inthe clean & jerk event, My was eighth with 85kg. In total she placedfourth.

Mygrabbed 22 points for Vietnam in the team ranking.

OnApril 6, Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien placed 15th in the women’s 53kg, and scored 11points. Vo Thi Ngoc Thanh was 18th in the same event, with eight points.

TheVietnamese women’s squad completed their tournament, a qualification event ofthe 2018 Youth Olympics, with a total of 71 points. They will have to wait tosee if they have grabbed a place at the Argentinean Games next October.

OnApril 4, Le Nguyen Quoc Bao of Vietnam won a gold medal with a lift of 96kg inthe snatch of the men’s 50kg category. He was third in the clean and jerk(119kg) and second in the total (215kg).

Bookcase project helps spread Vietnamese language in Thailand

Featuring 600 titles, the bookcase offers a diverse range of content suitable for all ages and proficiency levels.
