Slovenian businesses have had a chance to explore cooperation possibility in Vietnam as they attended an economic integration seminar in the Slovenian capital of Liubjana on May 13.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovenia Nguyen Thiep highlighted the potential for expanding economic and trade ties between the two countries.
Vietnam, with a population of nearly 100 million, is integrating deeply into the global economy, Thiep said, adding that it is accelerating negotiations of a free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement with stakeholders.
At the event, representatives from Slovenian businesses raised questions related to the possibility of expanding trade with Vietnam in farm produce, machinery and equipment, as well as incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Janez Sirse and Nina Pecoler, two businesspeople who worked in Vietnam, talked about prospects for investment in the country’s tourism.
Participants also discussed ways to enhance links between the two sides’ businesses.-VNA
