The event was jointly held by the Vietnam FatherlandFront Central Committee (VFFCC) and the North Europe organisation.
Deputy Chairman of the VFFCC Ha Van Nui stressed thatdiscrimination is one of the biggest obstacles to preventing HIV/AIDS aswell as caring for people with HIV/AIDS.
He saidthat eliminating social evils, preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS andcaring for abandoned children who have the virus are a must for thewhole of society.
Over the past few years, allreligions but especially Vietnamese Muslims have made a lot of progresswhen combating HIV/AIDS and discrimination in the community and curbingthe number of new patients.
Haji Machdares Samael,the head of Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Representative Committee pledged toactively take part in HIV/AIDS prevention programme and fight thediscrimination./.
