Vietnamese people in Czech Republic, UK contribute to COVID-19 fight

The Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic on June 11 granted 500 million VND (21,720 USD), donated by the Vietnamese community in the country, to Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccine fund.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic on June11 granted 500 million VND (21,720 USD), donated by the Vietnamese community inthe country, to Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccine fund.

President of the association Nguyen Duy Nhien said thatthrough the funding, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic wants tocontribute to the fatherland’s fight against the pandemic.

Thanking for the support, Vietnamese Ambassador Thai XuanDung asked Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic to continue to unite andsupport each other and well implement pandemic prevention and control measures.

Assessing Vietnam’s COVID-19 combat, head of the Union of VietnameseAssociations in Europe Hoang Dinh Thang expressed his belief that under thedrastic leadership of the Government and joint efforts of all people, thepandemic will soon be put back in the country.

Also on the day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Great Britain andNorth Ireland launched a fundraising campaign in support of Vietnam’s COVID-19prevention and control efforts.

Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed that mobilisingresources at home and abroad is extremely important because the fight againstthe pandemic is still prolong and arduous for Vietnam.

He called on Vietnamese representative offices in the UK,through their relationship channels, to inform their partners and theVietnamese community in the UK and abroad about COVID-19 prevention and controlin Vietnam, thereby mobilising practical contributions to this work in allforms, including connecting to vaccine sources and promoting the transfer ofvaccine production technology./.

Public order crime drops 22.55% in first half

In the field of economic crime, 2,096 cases involving 4,194 suspects were prosecuted in the first half. For corruption and position-related crimes, 370 cases and 1,042 suspects were brought to trial. Meanwhile, police uncovered 11,687 drug-related cases involving 22,863 individuals.

Thai Princess Award Foundation strengthens education ties with Vietnam

Youth volunteers support operation of local administration model, online public services

The programme prioritises 286 remote border communes, wards and special areas, where coordination between local youth units is seen as crucial. Volunteers are deployed across three main functions: supporting officials with administrative procedures, helping people and businesses submit online applications and payments, and offering digital training through creative models such as mobile tech clinics and grassroots tech groups.
