Vietnamese, Saudi Arabian foreign ministries sign MoU on political consultation

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese Minister of ForeignAffairs Bui Thanh Son and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal binFarhan Al Saud on July 5 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) onpolitical consultations between the two ministries.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, held virtually, theministers expressed their pleasure at the fruitful developments of theVietnam-Saudi Arabia relations, as well as the close cooperation between theministries.

The Saudi Arabian minister lauded Vietnam’sdevelopment achievements, and increasing position in the international arena,and congratulated the country on its role as a non-permanent member of theUnited Nations Security Council.

For his part, Son affirmed that Vietnam attachesimportance to consolidating and enhancing the friendship and multi-facetedcooperation with Saudi Arabia – one Vietnam’s important partner in the MiddleEast.

The signing of the MoU will contribute to establishinga framework for the enhancement of collaboration between the two ministries andcountries as well, he said.

The ministers used the occasion to exchange views on bilateralissues of shared concern./.

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms.
