A Vietnamese high school student has won a gold medal at the 2018 International Informatics Olympiad held in Tsukuba, Japan.
The only member of the Vietnamese team to win gold at the International Informatics Olympiad 2018, Pham Duc Thang was surprised by his achievement.
Besides Thang, three other members bagged one silver and two bronze medals. With the latest performance, Vietnam ranked 12th in the world and second in Southeast Asia, after Singapore.
A regional and international Olympiad season has successfully concluded for the Vietnamese team, with all 38 team members getting medals. The success affirms Vietnam’s position in the international academic arena./.-VNA
