The Vietnamese team won six medals at the eighth international junior science Olympiad (IJSO) held from Dec. 5-10 in Durban , South Africa .
The six medals include three silver ones for Le Minh Duc, Tran Minh Tuan, Vu Dang Minh Quan and three bronze ones for Nguyen Van Minh, Hoang Trong Nam Anh and Luong Viet Hoang. All are from the Hanoi-Amsterdam Senior High School for Gifted children.
The annual IJSO, first held in 2004 in Jakarta , Indonesia for students under the age of 15, focuses on three natural science subjects of physics, chemistry and biology.
This is the fourth time Vietnam has participated in the competition. In last year’s competition in Nigeria , Vietnam won five bronze medals./.
