Seoul (VNA) – The third conference of young Vietnamese scientists took place in Chung-Ang University, Seoul on May 29, attracting 100 young intellectuals and scientists from universities and research institutes across the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Chairman of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Korea (VSAK) Nguyen Ngoc Hoan said the event provides a platform for participants to share expertise and passion for science, thereby contributing to Vietnam’s scientific-technological development during global integration.

Vice Ambassador to the RoK Tran Anh Vu hailed young Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists for their contributions over the past time, including developing a solar-powered electric generator and automatic vegetable watering system for soldiers in Truong Sa.

Ha Thi Lam Hong, deputy head of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST)’s International Cooperation Department, updated the conference on Vietnam’s policies and orientations in science-technology development, particularly cooperation with the RoK in the field.

The MoST will provide all possible support for young scientists throughout their research and development of real life applications.

The conference was divided into 9 thematic sessions, during which the practical studies of over 50 scientific reports were chosen to be presented.

The East Sea issue from a scientific perspective was also highlighted.

On the sidelines of the event, the organising board displayed photos affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes and protesting China’s illegal construction of artificial islets in the area.

The event was hosted by the VSAK under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnam Office of Science and Technology in the RoK.-VNA
