Vietnam’s swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien bagged four gold and two silver medals at the Florida Swimming Spring Senior Championships, which wrapped up on March 3.
On the last day of the competition, Vien came first after clocking 1:58:64 in the women’s 200-yard butterfly event. She later pocketed a silver in the women’s 200-yard backstroke after finishing at 1:58:40.
The 17-year-old Olympian on March 2 topped the women’s 500-metre event with a time of 4:44:37 seconds and then grabbed a silver in the 200-yard individual medley.
The day before, the three-time SEA Games champion triumphed in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47:34 and the 400-yard individual medley at 4:08:21.
The Can Tho-born swimmer is getting intensive training in the US in preparation for the 17th Asian Games to be held in the Republic of Korea in September. She is expected to win a gold medal for Vietnam at this event.-VNA
