Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese women's volleyball team beat Iran 3-0 on June 21, advancing to the semifinals of the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup in Indonesia.

With the win over Uzbekistan in the preliminary round added to the second round as regulated by the rule, the win over Iran means the second for the Vietnamese girls and secure a berth for them to the semifinals despite the fact they still face Chinese Taipei on June 23 to determine the top and the second places in their group.

The cup is an international competition in Asia and Oceania for unranked senior women's national teams of the members of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, the sport's continent governing body.

The winners will get a place at the FIVB Women's Challenge Cup which attracts teams from around the world to compete in France in July./.
