The leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State and Government have said the Lao National Assembly President Pany Yathotu’s visit to Vietnam is a vivid manifestation of the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
At a reception in Hanoi on August 25, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos special relationship was an invaluable asset of the two nations that needs to be preserved for future generations.
The Party chief highlighted the close and effective cooperation between the two NAs and said he hopes both NAs and their agencies will further enhance bilateral cooperation and experience exchange, jointly inspect and supervise the two Governments in implementing the two countries’ cooperative agreements and boost information exchange and joint coordination in international activities.
Lao NA President Pany Yathotu affirmed that the Lao Party, State and NA will do their best to foster the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
She informed her host about the current situation in Lao, as well as the results of the cooperation between the two NAs and the talks between the two NA delegations.
At a reception given to Lao NA President Pany Yathotu, State President Truong Tan Sang said he hopes the Lao NA President and other Lao Party and State leaders will enhance cooperation to bring the Vietnam-Laos friendship to a new level.
On the path of development the two countries and nations will stand shoulder to shoulder to make active contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, he said.
For her part, Pany Yathotu said she is happy at the two countries’ effective implementation of bilateral cooperative agreements on economics, culture, science and technology.
She said she hopes the two sides will increase regular meetings and exchanges between leaders of the two Parties and States to reach consensus and define pathways for promoting the two countries’ ties.
At a meeting with the Lao NA President in Hanoi the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung spoke highly of Pany Yathotu’s choice to choose Vietnam as the first country to visit after she was re-elected as NA President.
PM Dung affirmed to do his utmost to further contribute to the two countries’ special friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
Vietnam wants to promote the all-around cooperation with Laos to mutually benefit both sides, Dung said.
Pany Yathotu said the Lao Party, State and NA believe that PM Dung will continue fostering the two countries’ traditional friendship.
The results of the talks between the two NA delegations will contribute to boosting the comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States to a new height, she said.
The Lao NA President also sent her congratulations to the Vietnamese Party, State, NA, Government and people for the upcoming Vietnam National Day (Sept. 2).
