Hanoi (VNA) – The production of Vietsovpetro, the oil and gas joint venture between Vietnam – Russia, reached 50 billion cu.m of gas on October 1 after 30 years of operation.
According to Vietsovpetro, of the volume, 18 billion cu.m of gas was supplied for the firm’s gas lift-based crude oil exploration in the oil fields of Ho Trang (White Tiger), Rong (Dragon), Tho Trang (White Rabbit), and Nam Rong – Doi Moi.
The rest of 32 billion cu.m of gas was brought ashore, supplying for the gas-fuelled industrial clusters, such as the Phu My Fertiliser Plant, Nhon Trach Power Plants 1, 2, 3; and Ba Ria Power Plant.
Over the past 30 years, Vietsovpetro has safely, effectively operated and collected all associated gas from fields in the Cuu Long Basin and part of the associated gas from the Nam Con Son Basin.
The first volume of associated gas from the White Tiger field was brought ashore on May 3, 1995.
The total volume of gas brought ashore by Vietsovpetro exceeded one billion cu.m on May 15, 1998. The figure reached 20 billion cu.m on March 25, 2008; 30 billion cu.m on October 25, 2011; and 45 billion cu.m on April 15, 2015.-VNA
