The Vietnam Glass and Ceramics for Construction Corp. (Viglacera) started construction of an apartment project for low-income earners in Hanoi ’s Gia Lam suburban district on July 31.
With an estimated investment of 600 billion VND (31.2 million USD), the project will include ten 12-storey blocks of apartments, covering an area of 3 hectares in Dang Xa residential area, 10 km east of Hanoi.
Viglacera said it would offer 1,000 low-cost apartments, ranging from 45-69 s.q.m each, to the market upon completion of the project, which is expected in a year and a half.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, Viglacera General Director, said since being able to design and construct the buildings by itself, the group is able to lower the construction costs of each apartment by 10-15 percent while still ensuring their quality and safety.
Building materials used for construction are environmentally friendly and produced with the most advanced technology, he added.
On the same day, Viglacera started work on the Viglacera Research and Development Institute which will mainly engage in research consultancy and scientific cooperation concerning construction materials, verification of input materials, environmental monitoring and technological transfer./.
