Mai Kieu Lien, CEO and Chairwoman of Vinamilk, Vietnam’s largest dairy producer, has been selected as one of Asia’s best chief executive officers (CEOs) in relations with investors by the Hong Kong-based Corporate Governance Asia Journal.
The award, based on assessments from readers and related investors, is part of the ASIAN Excellence Recognition Awards 2012.
This is the second time 58-year-old Lien has been honoured by the Corporate Governance Asia Journal together with the leaders of other big groups in the region such as China Telecom, Maybank, DBS Group, Singapore Airlines, HTC, Thaibev, Nissan Group and San Miguel. She got the first-time award in May 2012.
Lien was appreciated for her efforts to maintain Vinamilk’s strong growth and development despite difficulties derived from the world economic downturn.
In 2012, the company posted total revenues of over 27 trillion VND (1.29 billion USD), including 180 million USD from exports. It contributed nearly 3 trillion VND to the State budget.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong on March 27./.VNA
