Hanoi (VNA) – VinFast – the global electric vehicle(EV) maker from Vietnam – has announced it is hosting the VinFast CaliforniaRoadshow until March 6, aiming to promote its electric SUV models VF 8 and VF 9in the US market.

Following the reveal of VinFast's full lineup of EVs at theConsumer Electronics Show (CES 2022) last month, VinFast is bringing its new all-electric sport utility vehicles directly to Californians.

The VinFast California Roadshow will kick-off with a privateevent and VF 8 vehicle display on February 11 and 12 at Penthouse 56, this week'sheadquarters for the Los Angeles Rams as part of their big game celebrations.

The tour will run concurrently in Los Angeles at theWestfield Century City from February 11 – 13, and will continue to three morecities in Northern and Southern California, then concluding on March 6 at theFerry Building in San Francisco.

The tour will be held in the most populous areas inCalifornian cities, directly providing specifications and images of VinFast'sEV models to potential customers and the locals.

The roadshow provides potential customers a first-handopportunity to experience the brand and learn more about its premium electricSUVs, said Van Anh Nguyen, VinFast US Chief Executive Officer.

California is VinFast's home in the US, with operations inLos Angeles and San Francisco, he said, so the company wants to start itsjourney building relationships with local communities in its own “backyard”./.

Forum seeks solutions to build brand for Vietnamese Robusta coffee

VICOFA Vice Chairman Thai Nhu Hiep stated that Vietnam is already the world’s largest producer and exporter of Robusta coffee, with an annual output exceeding 1.8 million tonnes. Automakers race toward fierce competition as sector shifts gears

According to the latest figures from the Department of Customs, Vietnam imported 16,343 cars in October. Although this represents a 5.5% drop from the previous month, total imports over the first ten months reached 171,364 units, up 20% year on year. Import turnover neared 4 billion USD, the highest level in the past three years.

Coffee exports likely to exceed 8 billion USD this year

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that Vietnam sold 1.3 million tonnes of coffee overseas for 7.41 billion USD between January and October, up 61.8% year-on-year and marking the highest annual value increase to date. The average export price reached 5,653 USD per tonne, a surge of 42.5% from the same period last year. Several markets posted outstanding growth, particularly Mexico, where export value jumped by 34.7 times.
