Vietnam wants the World Health Organisation (WHO) to continue helping it improve capacity of the health sector, said Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
FM Minh received new WHO representative to Vietnam Takeshi Kasai in Hanoi on Apr. 5.
Minh expressed his hope that WHO will continue to assist Vietnam in fighting infectious and non-infectious diseases and dealing with nutrition and food safety and hygiene issues.
Takeshi Kasai expressed his impression about Vietnam ’s achievements in socio-economic development, including healthcare.
He said that WHO considers Vietnam as one of the nations of its prioritised cooperation and affirmed that he will coordinate with the Vietnamese government in implementing the Vietnam-WHO Cooperation Programme in 2012-2013.-VNA
