State President Truong Tan Sang received Phanduongchith Vongsa, Chairman of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) in Hanoi on Oct. 19.
Sang welcomed his Lao guest’s visit to Vietnam which comes at the time the two countries are celebrating the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year, the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of Amity and Cooperation Treaty.
He took this occasion to wish the LFNC to continue to make greater achievements.
Sang also expressed his belief that effective cooperation between the LFNC and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) will make contribution to deepening the traditional friendship between the two peoples.
While speaking highly of the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos’ mass mobilisation and front agencies, Vongsa stressed that Vietnam’s theory and practice will be helpful for his delegation members to apply in Laos’ party building.
He also pledged to do his utmost to contribute to strengthening cooperation between the LFNC and VFF as well as the solidarity between the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), and the two States and peoples.
The same day, the Lao LFNC delegation had a working session with a high-ranking delegation from the CPV Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission, led by its head, Ha Thi Khiet, who is also a Secretary of the CPV Central Committee.
The two sides informed each other of the situation of their respective Party and country and exchanged experience in mass mobilisation tasks.
The same day, on behalf of the LPRD and the Lao State, Vongsa presented Laos’ Issara Order, first class, to the CPVCC Mass Mobilisation Commission, Issara Order, second class, to Nguyen The Trung, deputy permanent head of the commission, and Friendship Order to its outstanding collectives and individuals.
The awards symbolise Laos’ acknowledgement and appreciation to great contributions of the CPVCC Mass Mobilisation Commission’s collectives and individuals in developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples./.
