VN, Laos promote communication cooperation

Vietnam and Laos have agreed to promote cooperation in the field of information and communication for the next five years, contributing to strengthening friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Theagreement was signed by Vietnamese Minister of Information andCommunication Nguyen Bac Son and Lao Minister of Post, Telecommunicationand Communication Hiem Phomachanh at their talks in Vientiane on Oct.17, as part of Son’s visit to Laos from Oct. 15-18.

Under the agreement, the two countries will continue sharing experiencein developing the post and telecommunication sector, promote cooperationin law building, hosting seminars and forums, and implementing relevantprojects. Priority will be given to the development of human resourcesthrough exchange of experts and training programmes./.

Excavation for war remains begins in Quang Ngai

Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee for the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains, said the mission aims to conduct definitive excavation and verification to bring home the remains of martyrs from Regiment 24A, the B3 Front, Special Forces Battalion 406, and Infantry Battalion 304, who fell during the 1968 Tet Offensive.
