The central province of Ha Tinh of Vietnam and its Lao neighbouring province of Bolikhamsay on May 11 agreed to invest in construction of areas along the Cau Treo and Nam Pao border gates.
The area, which covers 23.5ha, includes border gate administrative zone, trade, service and cultural centre and a road system between the two border gates.
The management board of the Cau Treo international border gate economic zone will invest 130 billion VND (7.2 million USD) to build the area in Vietnam and construction works in Laos will be built with non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government.
At the working session between the two provinces’ officials, Bolikhamsay’s Deputy Governor Thoong On Khamphuban said that his province will submit the project to the government for approval to implement the project as soon as possible./.
