Vietnam and Thailand need to boost economic cooperation, said Vietnamese and Thai officials in a meeting in Bangkok on May 11.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Ngo Duc Thang and Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya discussed measures to further bilateral economic cooperation, including resuming some air routes, simplifying procedures at land border gates and on roads in the East-West corridor, as well as expanding cooperation in the Mekong sub-region.
They also discussed measures to boost cooperation in investment, especially investment by small and medium enterprises.
They mentioned the expansion of cooperation in labour exports, exports of rice and rubber and celebrations for the 35 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Earlier, Ambassador Thang paid a courtesy visit to General Prem Tinsulamonda, President of the Privy Council of Thailand. /.
