VNPT launches Mobile Money service

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has become a Mobile Money service provider after its official launch of the service on November 25.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Posts andTelecommunications Group (VNPT) has become a Mobile Money service providerafter its official launch of the service onNovember 25.

Mobile Money - VNPT Pay helps subscribers ofVNPT’s Vinaphone mobile network operator to use their subscriptions as a bankaccount with full functions such as depositing, withdrawing and transferringmoney, and paying for services. As a result, it is suitable for people from allwalks of life across the nation.

With a diverse service ecosystem of mobile,telecommunications and internet networks covering more than 30 millionsubscribers, over 30,000 schools, more than 20,000 pharmacies, and over 7,000medical facilities/hospitals, the service fully meets people’s payment,shopping and utility needs.

At the launch, Deputy Minister of Information andCommunications Pham Duc Long said cashless payment is key to a successfuldigital transformation process.

Mobile Money helps narrow the gap between rural and urbanareas, and is an effective tool for faster and better transactions serving economicrecovery and growth amid COVID-19,

Long recommended VNPT effectively run the service and ensuresafety and security for customers in contribution to promoting the developmentof the digital economy and society in Vietnam./.
