VNPT launches Mobile Money service

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has become a Mobile Money service provider after its official launch of the service on November 25.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has become a Mobile Money service provider after its official launch of the service on November 25.

Mobile Money - VNPT Pay helps subscribers of VNPT’s Vinaphone mobile network operator to use their subscriptions as a bank account with full functions such as depositing, withdrawing and transferring money, and paying for services. As a result, it is suitable for people from all walks of life across the nation.

With a diverse service ecosystem of mobile, telecommunications and internet networks covering more than 30 million subscribers, over 30,000 schools, more than 20,000 pharmacies, and over 7,000 medical facilities/hospitals, the service fully meets people’s payment, shopping and utility needs.

At the launch, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long said cashless payment is key to a successful digital transformation process.

Mobile Money helps narrow the gap between rural and urban areas, and is an effective tool for faster and better transactions serving economic recovery and growth amid COVID-19,

Long recommended VNPT effectively run the service and ensure safety and security for customers in contribution to promoting the development of the digital economy and society in Vietnam./.
