VN's third private air carrier set for take-off

Air Mekong, Vietnam's third private air carrier, is scheduled to launch its first flights on October 10.

"The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) will finish itschecks and appraisal to enable Air Mekong's operation next month," thecompany stated in a press release.

"Air Mekong isscheduled to begin selling tickets from mid-September and to launch itsfirst flights on October 10 of this year," the company said.

The airline is scheduled to fly from Hanoi and HCM City to DaNang , Nha Trang, Da Lat and Phu Quoc. In addition, it has also askedpermission to fly from HCM City to Con Dao, Buon Me Thuot, HaiPhong and Vinh.

On August 15, the airline receiveddelivery of four made-in-Canada Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft owned bySkywest Leasing Inc of the US . Each aircraft has 95 business andeconomy-class seats.

Air Mekong was established in 2009by Ha Long Investment and Development Company. It will be headquarteredat Phu Quoc Airport . The other two private carriers in Vietnamare Indochina Airlines and VietJet AirAsia.

The CAAVsaid there were a number of organisations and individuals planning tolaunch airlines. To qualify, private operators must have a chartercapital of at least 500 billion VND (26.3 million USD) to flyinternationally and 200 billion VND (10.5 million USD) to launchdomestic flights. Airlines must also meet strict aviation and securitystandards./.

Data presented in the report reflects effective migration governance in recent years. The average recruitment cost paid by migrant workers dropped by 23.8%, from 164.9 million VND (6,400 USD) in 2021 to 125.7 million VND in 2025. Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the products and services include investment funds and asset management, asset-backed digital assets, international carbon credits, commodity trading and derivatives infrastructure linked to trade and supply-chain financing, financial technology, and bonds issued at the centre.
