Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vu Duc Dam has approved the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s proposal on launching an all-day English language channel .
The Deputy PM has appointed the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) to license the station’s new programme in accordance with current regulations.
The new channel is scheduled to go on-air during the third quarter this year.
Presently, the VOV’s Overseas Service VOV5 is broadcasting 12 foreign language programmes in English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, German, Lao, Thai, Cambodian, Indonesian and Vietnamese./.
