– A World Health Organisation (WHO) representative on May 5 warned that Cambodia remains at high risk of a second wave outbreak of COVID-19, although the country has achieved a good response to the first phase of the epidemic.

At a press conference on May 5, WHO Country Representative Li Ailan said the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over globally, including in Cambodia.

She added that WHO is committed to continue providing technical advice and optional support to the government, particularly the Ministry of Health, and collaborating with partners to respond to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Cambodian Health Minister Mam Bun Heng expressed his concern over the next wave of the COVID-19 outbreak that will come from imported cases into Cambodia.

He urged the public to continue following the government’s measures such as social and physical distancing, not holding mass gathering, and practising good hygiene./.
