Work starts on green growth technology transfer centre in Ninh Thuan

Construction started on a centre for research and transfer of green growth technology in Bac Ai district, the south central coastal province of Ninh Thuan, on March 17.

Ninh Thuan (VNA) – Constructionstarted on a centre for research and transfer of green growth technology in BacAi district, the south central coastal province of Ninh Thuan, on March 17.

The facility is the second phase of a project todevelop and apply green technologies. It has a total investment of 56 billionVND (2.45 million USD) sourced from the state budget under the national targetprogramme on response to climate change and promotion of green growth.

The centre, sitting on an area of 30 hectares, hasworkshops for research on and manufacturing of microbiological fertiliser, alongwith areas for plant breeding studies.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment Hoang Van Thang said the centre will help the province developclean agricultural production. Local people in the district will receiveassistance from the centre to switch to green, clean, water-saving,climate-resilient cultivation.

The centre, invested by the ministry’s VietnamAcademy of Water Resources, is scheduled to be completed by late December 2018.Similar projects are under implementation in Hai Duong, Hanoi, and HCMCity.-VNA
