A ground breaking ceremony for a waste water treatment plant in the central coastal city of Nha Trang was held on August 17.
The 25 million USD plant has a designed capacity of 40,000 cu.m/ day and night, which will be increased to 60,000 cu.m per day and night by 2025.
Once becoming operational in late 2014, the plant will be able to treat all sewage discharged by the central and southern areas of Nha Trang city, putting an end to the flow of raw sewage into Nha Trang bay.
The plant is part of the project to improve environmental sanitation in the city, which was conducted from 2007 at a total investment of 93 million USD provided by the World Bank and the Government’s counterpart capital.
Apart from Nha Trang City, two other cities in the central region, Quy Nhon and Dong Hoi, also benefited from the projects.-VNA
