Work on Vinh Thinh Bridge over Red River is scheduled to start on Dec. 18, with a total investment of 137 million USD, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The bridge will link Highway 32 and Highway 2 and with a total length of 5,487m, it will be the longest over the Red River .
The bridge is expected to help ease traffic pressure on Highways 2, 3, 6 and 32.
The project, which is expected to be completed in three years, is funded with ODA from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and capital from the Vietnamese Government. It will be implemented by GS Engineering and Construction Corporation, a RoK contractor.
Deputy Minister of Transport Truong Tan Vien on Dec. 16 also announced this month’s start of projects to upgrade Highway 20 and build passenger terminals at Buon Me Thuot Airport and Da Nang International Airport ./.
