Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development and the Belgian Embassy in Vietnam held aworkshop in Hanoi on November 23 to review Vietnam – Belgium farming cooperation.
The workshop looked into engagement betweenthe two countries’ governments, universities, institutions, and businesses. Discussionrevolved around food safety regulations, climate change impacts, andsustainable agriculture in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment Le Quoc Doanh stressed Belgium is an important partner of Vietnam,providing assistance in the management of waterresources and sanitation.
The sides have held regular informationexchanges on food safety to facilitate bilateral trade of farm produce, headded.
The official suggested Belgium introduceadvanced technologies and modern management methods to Vietnam, helping thecountry restructure its agricultural sector to adapt to climate change.
Dirk Achten, Secretary General of Belgium’s FederalPublic Service Foreign Affairs, said Vietnam is a strong partner of hiscountry.
He stated Belgium will continue its supportfor Vietnam via more joint projects between the two countries’ non-governmentalorganisations, universities and private companies.-VNA
