A workshop to promote tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Israel was held in Hanoi on December 4.
Organsised by the Israel’s Embassy in Vietnam and the ministries of tourism and trade in Israel, the event attracted the participation of representatives from four of Israel’s biggest travel agents and more than 40 others from Vietnamese travel agencies.
Addressing the event, Israel’s Ambassador to Vietnam Meiraw Eilon Shahar said her country has huge potential for developing tourism as it has advantageous terrain.
She stressed the workshop provides a good chance for Vietnam to understand more about Israel’s open policy in the tourism sector and its focus on quality and developing new tourism products, while imposing standards on travel agencies and hotels.
At the workshop, Israeli travel agents said over 3.5 million visitors arrive in Israel every year. However, the number of Vietnamese visitors remains low due to the shortage of information about the country.
In order to further tap potential for developing tourism between the two countries, the ambassador suggested Vietnam’s tour operators to exploit Israel’s strong tourism products in the coming time.-VNA
