A workshop on 80 years of building and developing the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was held in Hanoi on Jan. 26 to mark the 80th anniversary of the CPV’s founding.
Co-chair of the workshop, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, highlighted the major achievements of the Party’s Platforms since its founding day, Feb. 3, 1930.
Each platform, though adapting to different requirements during different periods of the Vietnamese revolution, expresses clearly and consistently the Party’s point of view and ideas on the objectives, strategic duties, orientations and methodology for the country’s revolutionary process, he said.
All the platforms came into being as the result of deploying and developing the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s body of thought and the national cultural tradition, thus meeting the requirements of the revolution in each period and the desire of the whole people, the NA Chairman stressed.
Each of the Party’s platforms has its own historical significance and practical value, orienting the country’s development and the activities of the CPV and the Vietnamese people, he added.
In his report, President of the National Academy for Politics and Public Administration Le Huu Nghia affirmed that the Vietnamese nation, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, has made a great leap in its history over the last 80 years. From a semi-feudal colonial country, Vietnam has struggled to become an independent and free country, marching towards socialism, a country that has broad external relations and an increasingly important position in the region and the world as a whole.
Presentations at the workshop memorialised the great merit of the contributions of the late President Ho Chi Minh and the communist soldiers, clarified the historical significance of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and highlighted the successes and victory of the Vietnamese revolution over the last 80 years under the leadership of the CPV./.
