Da Nang (VNA) – A workshop themed “Japanese ICT Day 2016” was held in Hanoi on October 27 to promote the cooperation between ICT enterprises in Da Nang and Japan.
The event forms part of the annual cooperation programme between the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club.
The city took the occasion to introduce its incentives for Japanese investment in ICT.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung said the city has issued many policies and focused resources on developing ICT as one of the spearhead industries.
According to the Vice Chairman, Da Nang has led the country for seven consecutive years from 2009 to 2015 in the index of readiness for ICT development and application, and three years in a row in terms of Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI).
In the coming time, Da Nang aims to improve its investment climate and offer incentives for foreign investors, including Japanese ones, Dung affirmed.
Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Committee under the Japan IT Services industry Association (JISA) Seiichi Ito spoke highly of the ICT cooperation between the two nations over the past years.
He expressed his hope that the local authorities will facilitate Japanese investment in the locality, while pledging that JISA will serve as a bridge connecting Japanese investors and the city, particularly in ICT sector.
VINASA Vice President Nguyen Doan Hung said Vietnam lack IT experts proficient in Japanese language, which is a major obstacle for cooperation with Japanese ICT firms. He underlined the need to enhance the professional skills for local ICT human resource to meet the sector’s demand. In the framework of the workshop, Japanese enterprises will visit Da Nang University and FPT Software Company, among others.-VNA
