Glaucoma is the second-largest cause of blindness, after cataracts, in most countries over the world, including Vietnam.

Experts forecast that the number of glaucoma patients will increase significantly in the next few years and will reach around 80 million in 2020.

Since glaucoma is a hereditary disease, this year’s Glaucoma Week focuses on disseminating information and raising patients’ and their relatives’ awareness of the disease to prompt timely treatment.
On the occasion, the hospital provided eye check-ups and medicines free of charge for 100 patients./.
