Facing the heavy losses, Yen Bai has mobilised more than 17,000 people to search for the missing and address flood consequences.

Aside from the province’s financial and rice aid, the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee also decided to provide money and basics worth 216 million VND (9,400 USD) in total for flood victims in the province.

On July 20, a working group of the central steering committee for disaster prevention and control, search and rescue inspected the settlement of flood impact in Van Chan district.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang, deputy head of the committee’s standing board, sent sympathies to the province and asked it to be more active in dealing with flood consequences and evacuating residents in vulnerable areas to minimise human and property losses.-VNA
