Hanoi (VNA) - Thai police said on September 5 they had arrested a suspect linked to Muslim insurgents in connection with the bombings in tourist towns last month that killed four people and wounded dozens, including foreigners.

The suspect, who was detained on September 3, was Abdul Kadae, the police said.

Kadae is currently in military custody where he is being interrogated, said police deputy spokesman Krisana Pattanacharoen.

According to the police, Kadae was from southern Pattani province. He was suspected of arson in Trang province as part of the attacks on August 11-12.

Police have issued several warrants for suspects of the attacks.
