Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – A delegation from the Communist Review visited the New Straits Times, the longest running Malaysian newspaper, on October 25. 

Deputy Editor-in-chief Vu Van Ha, head of the delegation, said that as the agency popularising the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, the Communist Review is eager to learn from international press agencies. 

The visit aims to study local press’ management and other related fields like finance, human resources training, he added. 

Mahfar Ali, senior official from the New Straits Times, introduced its activities and mechanisms in information management and training. 

The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern like press guidance, state management in the field and modern trends in media. 

The New Straits Times was established in 1845 and is one of the largest media corporations in Malaysia with over 5.3 million readers. 

On October 24, the Vietnamese delegation visited Bernama, the national news agency of Malaysia.-VNA
