The annual Vietnam-Laos friendship exchange has concluded in central Nghe An province following a week of youth networking between the two neighbours.

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee Khampha Phimmasone, and Permanent Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Phan Van Mai, among others.

Participants at the event stressed the need for the young generations of both countries to uphold the precious tradition of friendship and partnership between Vietnam and Laos.

They also agreed to maintain regular communication and continue seeking new ways to strengthen the ties between the two parties, governments and peoples.

During their stay in Nghe An province, youths from Laos experienced the daily life of local residents in the province’s Cua Lo town and visited fishing villages to learn about the Vietnamese culture.

Nghe An is currently training undergraduate and postgraduates students for five Lao provinces, and it has pledged to devote time and money to the development of the socio-economic and cultural development in both countries.

Every year, Vietnam and Laos take turns hosting youth exchanges aimed at enhancing mutual understanding between the two youth unions. This year’s event has been hailed by participants as a particularly significant occasion, immeasurably boosting the development and understanding between Vietnam and Laos-VNA
