A 230kg (500 pounds) bomb was successfully removed from Cay Dua residential area in Di Lang town of Son Ha district in the central province of Quang Ngai on July 2.
The 1.45m long bomb was discovered by sappers from the Truong Son Construction Corporation’s unexploded ordnance clearance centre.
It was unearthed just 50m from local housing, dropped by the US Air Force more than 45 years ago.
The bomb was reported to the Quang Ngai provincial Military Command and authorities of Son Ha district.-VNA
