64th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba relations marked in HCM City

The Cuban Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4 held a ceremony to celebrate the 64th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 – 2024), during which the municipal authorities presented 100 tablets to the Cuban people as a token of friendship.

HCM City (VNA) – The Cuban Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4 held a ceremony to celebrate the 64th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 – 2024), during which the municipal authorities presented 100 tablets to the Cuban people as a token of friendship.

In her remarks, Cuban Consul General Ariadne Feo Labrada said that the two countries have sustained an exemplary relationship over the past 64 years and that the responsibility of current generations is to actively strengthen the bilateral cooperation and friendship across sectors.

The diplomat also noted that the Consulate General has worked closely with the city’s agencies and organisations to organise numerous events aimed at fostering ties between young Vietnamese and Cuban people and promoting exchanges and collaboration between localities of the two countries.

Thanking the Vietnamese Party, Government, businesses, and people for their support to Cuba and their contributions to the country's development, she affirmed the Consulate General’s commitment to further reinforcing the bilateral political, economic, and cooperative ties.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan shared that the city has held various activities with the Cuban side, including trade-investment promotion, cultural exchanges, and practical assistance during the country’s difficult periods. These efforts are not merely acts of aid but a reflection of the pride and responsibility shared between friends and comrades, he said.

The official stated that HCM City is committed to continuing its role as a bridge for bilateral trade and a pioneer in fostering the Vietnam-Cuba cooperation in the fields of healthcare, education, science, and technology./.
