In the first seven months of this year, export revenue fetched over 226 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of over 15%. Recovery was seen in all major markets, including the US, China, and the EU.
Exports of agricultural products hit 21.4 billion USD in the seven-month period, up over 19% year on year. Most of farm produce such as coffee, rice, tea, vegetables and fruits recorded double-digit export growth.
Despite abundant opportunities ahead, the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted several challenges.
For example, Vietnam’s export markets are increasingly imposing new international trade requirements, tighter market barriers, and greater focus on trade protection, green transformation, and health protection product groups.
To boost exports for the remainder of the year, the ministry will enhance coordination with other ministries, sectors, and localities to better tap into traditional markets and explore new ones.
It will also support businesses in meeting new requirements and strengthen trade promotion efforts to access potential markets./.
