A friendship exchange and an exhibition entitled “Cuba- Beloved Country” took place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 28 to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties (December 2).
The programme is held by the Ho Chi Minh City chapters of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association.
At the opening ceremony, Huynh Minh Thien, Vice Chairman of VUFO chapter in HCM City , and Cuban General Consul in HCM City , Gabriel Francisco Perez Tarrau, expressed their delight at the fine development of the traditional friendship and ties between the two countries over the past 50 years.
The activities serve as a valuable opportunity for the two peoples to review their long-lasting friendship and for Vietnamese people to gain a better understanding of Cuba .
During the exchange, senior officials and former students who worked and studied in Cuba , recalled memories of the country.
Under the programme, a photo exhibition by journalists of the Vietnam News Agency will be held from November 28 to December 5 to introduce Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties, as well as Cuba and its people./.
