HCM City (VNA) – Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyenon February 1 received Eric Sidgwick, AsianDevelopment Bank (ADB)’s Country Director for Vietnam.
At the meeting,the municipal official affirmed that HCM City is committed to implementing cooperationdeals with its partners, especially ADB. He added that the VietnameseGovernment is revising projects using official development assistance (ODA) toensure their effective implementation.
Regarding the fourmajor projects between HCM City and ADB, Tuyen noted that the city has askedthe Ministry of Planning and Investment to allocate funding for the metro lineNo.2.
It also approvedthe compensation plan for land clearance which the HCM City’s ManagementAuthority for Urban Railway and ADB have agreed on. In addition, HCM City hasworked on ADB’s recommendations on the first phase of the metro line No.5.
For his part, Sidgwick affirmed to support HCM City inurban infrastructure, contributing to the city’s development.
He added that theADB wants to be regularly updated on the pace of the two sides’ joint projects,as well as to hold regular discussions on issues related to ODA management andpublic debt ceiling to ensure joint projects are carried out as schedule andmeeting targets.
