- More than 236 trillion VND (10 billion USD) had been mobilised to directly serve the COVID-19 prevention and control as of December 31, 2022, according to a report by a National Assembly (NA) supervisory delegation.
Results of the NA delegation’s supervision over the mobilisation, management, and use of resources for the pandemic combat, along with the implementation of policies and laws on grassroots health care and preventive medicine were discussed at the ongoing 22nd session of the NA Standing Committee on April 11. - The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh once again topped Vietnam’s Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2022, according to the PCI 2022 report released on April 11 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

- The Ministry of Transport will sketch out a planning scheme in the capital region for 2026-2030, and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.

- The Cat Linh – Ha Dong metro line served more than 2.65 million passengers in the first quarter of this year, skyrocketing 262% year-on-year, according to General Director of Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) Vu Hong Truong.
Currently there are 10,000 commuters using monthly passes. On overage, the route transports over 32,000 passengers per weekday, and around 28,000 riders during a weekend. Read full story
- Vietnam witnessed an significant increase in the number of international tourist arrivals by sea in the first quarter of 2023, showing that cruise tourism has great potential for further development in the Southeast Asian nation.
According to the General Statistics Office, in March, international arrivals to Vietnam by sea rose more than 2.8 times, as compared to the previous month. In the first three months of the year, Vietnam welcomed 33,700 cruise passengers, up 936.3 times higher year on year. Read full story
- More than 200 streets and landmarks in Vietnam and France that carry imprints of history of the relations between the two countries have been spotlighted in a book titled “Dau an Phap-Viet qua ten nhung con duong (French-Vietnamese imprints through the names of roads) by overseas Vietnamese writer Tran Thu Dung.
