- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 12 met Queen Maximaof the Netherlands, expressing his hope that the royal family and the queenwill continue supporting efforts to boost the two countries’ relations, and itsfinancial aid and technical transfer to Vietnam.

- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic JiriKozak on December 12 affirmed that the country supports efforts to strengthenties between Vietnam and the EU.

During a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Thi Thu Hangas part of his visit to Vietnam from December 12 to 13, Jiri said that as therotating President of the EU Council in the second half of 2022, the CzechGovernment has always actively boosted the removal of the European Commission’sIUU “yellow card” warning against Vietnam’s aquatic product exports. Read full story

- The Civil AviationAuthority (CAA) has proposed the Ministry of Transport add nine airports to thenational airport planning for 2030 with a vision to 2050.

The proposed airports are in Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang,Ha Tinh, Kon Tum, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Dak Nong and Tay Ninh provinces. Read full story

- The northerncoastal province of Quang Ninh has attracted 2.18 billion USD in foreigninvestment so far this year, the first time the capital poured into thelocality surpasses the 2-billion-USD mark.

- First Vietnameseelectric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast announced on December 13 that ithanded over 594 EVs of VF e34 and VF 8 models to its customers in November.

The company, a member of private conglomerate Vingroup, isplanning the delivery of thousands of units of the two models for pre-ordercustomers when the supply chain is stable and production is no longerinterrupted, as well as the first VF 9 ones at the beginning of the firstquarter next year.Read full story

- Hanoi is aiming forits Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita to reach about 150million VND (6,348 USD) by 2023.

Vietnam-India relations enter new phase of development: Indian expert

Vietnam, Türkiye strengthen parliamentary cooperation

Top leader’s visits opening new phase of deeper, more effective ties with India, Sri Lanka: FM

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung described the visits as particularly important and historic, taking place at a meaningful moment as Vietnam and India mark the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and just one month after the top leader of Vietnam assumed his new position. For Sri Lanka, this was the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese leader since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
