– President To Lam attended a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on July 1 to make the debut of the security and order protection force at the grassroots level.

The force, established by local authorities on a voluntary basis of people, comprises part-time communal public security personnel, guards of residential areas, and wardens.Read full story

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam – Republic of Korea (RoK) Labour Cooperation Forum in Seoul on July 1 within the framework of his official visit to the East Asian country to seek ways to improve the quality of bilateral collaboration in the labour field.

At the forum, delegates assessed that over the past 30 years, bilateral cooperation has achieved remarkable development, including in labour, employment and social security. – National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation of NA deputies of Hau Giang met with voters from the Mekong Delta province on July 1 following the conclusion of the 15th NA’s seventh session.

– Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, who is accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on an official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK), has had a working session with the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea (VINK).

– Vietnam exported 4.68 million tonnes of rice in the first six months of this year, earning 2.98 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

– Vietnam's economy is experiencing a surge, fueled by strong export and industrial production, according to a series of reports from international organisations.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expressed optimism in its 2024 Article IV consultation with Vietnam. Its head Paulo Medas predicted a nearly 6% growth for the Vietnamese economy in 2024, supported by robust external demand, stable foreign direct investment (FDI), and recent policy adjustments.
