New York (VNA) – A delegation of the Party Committee of Central Agencies' Bloc led by its secretary Nguyen Van The had working sessions with the Communist Party USA and Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) and other representative agencies in New York from June 27-29, within the framework of the delegation’s visit to US.

At the working session with the Communist Party USA on June 28, The, who is also member of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee, thanked the US side for its support to Vietnam during its struggles for national independence and reunification, in overcoming the consequences of war and promoting the process of normalising and developing the Vietnam-US relations.

The two sides discussed Party building work, especially on policies, priorities, and measures that are suitable with each Party's situation. On this occasion, The congratulated the US Party on the success of its 32nd Congress that took place in Chicago from June 7-9.

Rossana Cambron, Co-chair of the Communist Party USA, expressed her delight at Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements in general and Party building work in particular, and emphasised that the achievements is a source of inspiration and encouragement to the US communists and working people.

The two sides agreed to continue increasing the information exchanges and promoting their cooperation to help strengthen understanding and friendship between the two Parties and peoples.

At the meeting with the delegation, Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Representative Mission of Vietnam to the UN Dang Hoang Giang reviewed international situations, progress and major issues that are being discussed at the UN, results of the implementation of foreign affairs tasks, Vietnam’s contributions at international forums, and outstanding developments of the Vietnam - UN relations in recent years.

Giang affirmed that Vietnam's voice and contributions at recent UN forums have contributed to enhancing the country's position in the world.

Appreciating the performance of the mission and Vietnamese representative agencies in New York, The asked them to continue to comprehensively implement foreign affairs work, towards Party congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress./.
